Holiday Traditions & Recipe Idea

Happy Wednesday!

Why is November moving at lightening speed. I am excited for Thanksgiving. We will be having lunch with Ryan’s mom at a restaurant then we will be coming back to our place and eating dessert. Lately though I have been thinking of making some Chili because I am sure we will be hungry for dinner but I am not sure. Me and Ryan will be making Pecan Pie and Watergate Salad. I make Watergate salad every year since I have been a child. Actually it is the very first recipe I learned how to make ever. So for me it has history and I remember spending time with my mom in the kitchen a lot especially around holidays.  I think that is why I love the holidays a lot. I will share the Watergate Salad below so maybe you can prepare it for Thanksgiving.

Speaking of Holidays we ordered our Christmas tree on Friday so I am hoping we can start decorating soon. I have a lot of decorations I want to put up. We will be gone for a week to Texas though but I want to decorate before we leave. So when we come back everything is put together and we can just enjoy the holidays.

Last year Ryan and I started a new tradition- going into the city the day before Christmas Eve and having dinner at a nice restaurant that we have not been too and doing a fun activity together It is basically a date night but to enjoy each other before we spend it with family. So we will do that also. I love that we started this tradition and it is something we can enjoy hopefully for years to come.

Anyways, I digress.  That is all in the future and I will be talking about it soon more in depth. I also want to share my December 25 days to Christmas Bucket List. In the mean time we have been busy preparing for our trip that is coming in about 3 weeks.  Time is happening so quickly but I can’t wait to travel with Ryan to my home state of Texas and show him around.

Watergate Salad Recipe

1 bag of small marshmallows

1 can of Pineapple Tidbits

1 container of softened cool whip

1 small bag of pecans

Mix all together and refrigerate overnight. This type of recipe is the kind that the more time it is in the fridge the better it tastes. So Good!!

*Optional* You can also add in a can of Fruit Cocktail.

So Easy but so good.

Not my photo but it is linked to a recipe where I got the photo.

I also have a few gift ideas for the men in your life. I finished all my Christmas Shopping this weekend including my life partner.  I will put it together for Friday’s post. So Come back on Friday and get a few Christmas gift ideas for that special man in your life.

See you here on Friday.
